The 2022 season of Czech Perez has started with many ups and downs, although not derived by its performance, since the Mexican driver has been one of the most consistent in terms of performanceso if today he is not fighting for the top of the championship with Leclerc, it is mainly due to a couple of moments full of bad luck.

According to Horner, Serio’s work continues to rise and that is mainly due to the adaptation of the team, which is why he has managed to eliminate the distances against his teammate Max Verstappenwhom he already beat in the classification of the Saudi Arabian GP.
“It will always be easier for Sergio Pérez to enter his second season. The gap between him and Max has disappeared”, Horner mentioned according to PrimeF1in reference to his race rhythms and classification, since the man from Guadalajara is already capable of fighting for the pole position on a par with the main rivals: Max Verstappen Y charles leclerc.

It should be remembered that Czech had to leave the Bahrain GP with one lap to go, after suffering a fuel pump problem that deprived him of third place; while in Saudi Arabia, after obtaining its first pole position, lost the lead on lap 15 due to an ill-timed safety car that gave all his rivals a pit stop.
The moment to return to the podium finally came in Melbourne, with a second place Czech after a tremendous careerwhere he also took advantage of the abandonment of Max Verstappen to climb to step number two of the dais.
Given this performance, where he starred in entertaining fights against the two Mercedes of Hamilton and Russell, Horner also praised him, confirming the good feelings of the team with the Mexican on board.
“Checo had an exceptional race. He was unlucky once again with the safety car but made an impressive pass on Lewis at the high-speed chicane. Then she had to go back to Fernando Alonso Y George Russell to get back to that podium position. So it was a great recovery from him,” she stated.
With these words, a large sector of Sergio’s followers were excited about the possible dispute over the Drivers’ World Cupsince it currently exceeds Max Verstappen in points and it depends on his ability to be able to place himself as the number 1 pilot of Red Bull this season.
